Mayfield Scythe / Tractor Deals With Serious Undergrowth!

This is a Mayfield Croft Tractor with the Scythe attachment. Built between 1961 – 65 it has a Villiers C25 4 stroke engine, three forward and one reverse gear. I have used it to deal with very dense brambles, nettles and bracken. It is very effective for the removal of problem undergrowth and tackles most thick vegetation.

looks like a classic machine. to make something even similar nowadays would cost a fortune, and probably wouldnt cut half as well. thanks for sharing. good video.

I have one.Inherited from my parents. I used it all year round as part of my chores.
New engine with uprated drive rod for the scythe. The original was weak and broke frequently. Additional bolt on units. Table saw with new blade and generator n/w. Plough also.
